Defense/Kicker Leads Bama to 14th National Championship

What an intriguing National Championship between the #1 LSU Tigers and the #2 Alabama Crimson Tide, longtime rivals from the SEC West Division!  The BCS National Championship Game had never featured two teams from the same conference until tonight.  The Crimson Tide took advantage early and never looked back.  Kicker Jeremy Gelley made three of his five field goals in the first half to give his team a 9-0 lead at the half.  As Bama's offense was running up and down the field, their defense was stought as well, giving up a mere 92 yards to LSU in the game.  As the fourth quarter began, the Crimson Tide held an amazing 15-0 lead and the country's #1 team still had not crossed the 50 yard line.  Alabama continued to cruise and Trent Richardson's 34 yard TD run in the 4th quarter cemented Alabama's second BCS National Championship in 3 years.  Alabama won its 14th Football National Championship and Coach Nick Saban became the first coach to win three BCS National Championships.  There's no question the state of Alabama and the SEC still dominate College Football!
